Mediocre Result I received this product in better than reasonable time. As soon as I got it I selected a section of my beige carpet that was dark from traffic and had a few small stains; the section is adjacent to the kitchenette. I followed the Host directions to the letter.The result was a perceptible brightening of treated area, with the stains unchanged. The brightening could have achieved by any product, even a dollar store brand (I’ve done it).I was actually quite disappointed. The carpet is the usual cheap commercial grade type that apartment complexes rely on. Admittedly, the stains, though small, are old and severe. They are a perfect test for Host.The product does not really leave the floor dry, but it does dry a few minutes after vacuuming. I suppose that qualifies to allow them to call it a “dry” carpet cleaner. Application was easy and surprisingly not at all messy. But the bottom line is there was not much improvement.I will amend this review, if indicated, as I continue to experiment with this product.Update: Two days later and the area I treated with host actually looks worse than before I treated it! I used some dollar store spotter on some of the stains that Host did not dislodge and they were diminished by about 50%. If I knew how, I would detract one of my two stars in this rating.
