Really does the job! This is an excellent carpet cleaning kit, no matter how old or how stained your carpet is! We had two areas that we were basically told were stained forever, but to solve the problem involved replacing 28 YARDS of perfectly good carpet and pad, which we just couldn’t do. When this kit came we used all three products (in order) on those areas and were surprised to see ALL the old determined stains disappear! And with no color change or fading, so now ALL our carpet looks GREAT! DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THESE BISSELL CLEANERS!
OK cats, cough up your best hairballs – I’m ready to clean As a multi-cat household, hairballs and other equally nasty feline effluent and projectiles are a fact of life. And it always amazes me how cats will studiously avoid messing on an easy to clean surface, such as tile, and go out of their way to aim for the carpet. I stopped taking it personally years ago, but still…But I’m now amply equipped with this kit from Bissell. It consists of three products that I’ll cover individually.Carpet cleaner – this is a pretty standard concentrate that is used in carpet cleaning machines. I used it in my Hoover carpet cleaner and it did a decent job. It is 2X concentrated so not much is needed. But, to be honest, the cleaning ability was no better than the inexpensive stuff I get at Sam’s Club (their generic carpet cleaning solution). The Bissell had a nicer scent than the cheap stuff, and rinsed out with a bit more ease, but it didn’t perform any better. I’ll give this 3 stars for value, 5 for performance, average to 4.Aerosol spot cleaner – I wasn’t all that thrilled with this mainly due to the aerosol dispenser. It did do an OK job cleaning up a fresh stain on the carpet, but I felt I was wasting a lot of the cleaning solution since I couldn’t precisely control the amount dispensed. On the plus side, it is dispensed in a narrow stream so it’s easy to target where you want it to go. Decent scent as well. Three stars for value; 4 for performance; average of 3.5 stars.Spray cleaner – this was the standout of the bunch. Loved the scent – very fresh smelling. But more important, it works wonderfully. It got out a set-in stain that has shrugged off every other carpet cleaning solution I’ve tried (both manual and machine applied). The trigger pump spray can be adjusted so it puts out either a wide or a narrow spray. Can’t recommend this more highly – 6 stars!Given how pleased I was with the spray cleaner I’ll give the kit a 5-star rating. However, while the spray is something I’d absolutely get again, I’ll pass on the other two items.(As a side note to pet owners — get the Bissell Spot Bot machine. This 3 in 1 kit offers professionally graded products for home use. If you are a defined as a DIY (Do It Yourself) person, you will find the products easy to use. I tested it on a piece of rug as well as my office chair, which were both pretty soiled. The outcome was satisfactory and accomplished what I was attempted to do. These products are good to have because you never know when you will have a spill or when you will need to clean carpet or upholstery items.
