Exceeded expectations I saw the commercial, but really didn’t except this stuff to work. I am amazed. The improvement in my carpet is quite shocking. First let me say that my carpet is 28 years old (!), but since it is good quality, is vacuumed often and is forest green, it still looks good after all this time. The part of the carpet that suffers most is at my deck door. There is not enough clearance for the door to open over a mat of some sort that could protect the carpet and people use that door multiple times a day. To make matters worse, the access from the den to the kitchen (and on to the garage) is right there as well. That patch of carpet is really abused. While I was able to find a small oriental throw rug to cover the carpet as it joins the wood floor in the kitchen and protects that edge, the part beyond that is in front of the door was really dirty.I actually have a carpet cleaner, but for lack of space, it’s stored in the barn and I’m not eager to retrieve it for this one patch of carpet so I decided to first give this spray cleaner a try before hauling the heavy machine in here. I followed directions, i.e. shaking vigorously, spraying evenly and brushing it in, then vacuuming thoroughly when dry.First of all, I don’t have a sponge mop to work it in, so I used a scrub brush and brushed a little after spraying each small patch to ensure the product didn’t just lay on top of the carpet. I didn’t scrub the carpet, just ‘whisked’ it in a little. I can’t squat or kneel and had to do this bending over so you can imagine it wasn’t much brushing. Mostly I did the 4×4′ area in front of the door pretty thoroughly, but then extended along the most highly traveled path about 2×8′ and in front of the sofa (1×6′). The contents of the can hadn’t run out so I also cleaned two small oriental throws about 2×3′ each. I sprayed the really dirty part of the carpet a little heavier than the rest, but although the foam was visible, it was lightly visible, not a layer of foam. I waited longer than the 15 minutes, mostly because I was doing other things, but wanted to ensure it was really dry. I was prepared for failure because I didn’t see much difference in the dirtiest place when I returned to vacuum. However, after extensive vacuuming, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The area looks better than it has in years. I’m really impressed. The carpet feels soft, dry and not at all sticky, but it remains to be seen if the area stays clean for a decent amount of time. Sometimes carpet cleaners leave behind residue that attracts more dirt. We will see, and I’ll update if I find that, but right now, I’m delighted with the result and highly recommend the product.
waiting like a kid on christmas…. I know its sad, but I can’t wait until my carpets are dry and I can vacuum the spots away.. when we moved into our apartment last october, the carpet wasn’t new, the previous tennants were evicted and then we moved in, all they did was clean it. There was a pink spray paint spot and a brown stain in our office, also parts were torn up and missing. Not sure how old the carpet is.. but its powder blue..Our landlord just said to make notes of it. So we did. In november, my bf thought it would be a good idea to watch his parents dog, so we know what it will be like when we get a puppy. (Bad idea) he peed on our carpet by our bed… I thought by trying a home remedy for it, baking soda and vinegar. It didn’t work.. and turned part of the carpet a beige color.. ugh.we did get our puppy in dec, and little stains here and there upstairs. So I bout this, money is really tight and we can’t afford a fancy steam cleaner, which I would love… so I got this. I’m waiting for the carpet to dry so I can see if it works. I shall return!….Ok I have returned. The pee stais are gone, espically the old one by our bed. The carpet looks clean! The spray paint and mysterious brown spot are still there, but I’m not going to stress too much about it. I treated the baking soda spot, and I may have to re-treat only because there’s still baking soda inbedded in the carpet, so that was my fault. But it looks way better! So yay. it smells fresh and clean, I had all the windows open so it was warm today and everything dried quickly. The only bummer, I was reading reviews, you need more than 1 can… I hit spots in 2 rooms, a walkway, and the carpet square at the base of the stairs and it was struggling to spray towards the last carpet square. But I bought 2 cans anyway so now I have 1 left for another spill or stain. I’m sure ill buy more, we plan on getting another dog in the future, so this will definately stay on my list of want.Oh! I didn’t have a scrubby moppy thingy that it says you need on the can, I just used a damp scrub brush.I don’t believe in 5 star, nothing is perfect. But its a great product.
Works, but runs out too fast. Works decently, like any other carpet cleaner.Problem is, after cleaning about 4 spots, the bottle ran out!Just keep in mind to buy 4-5 bottles.
