Perfect for the job I have 4 mini Dachshunds at home and they from time to time have little accidents. I bought this cleaner from Petsmart and after one use find it to be perfect for cleaning up after small pet incidents. I have used large commercial carpet cleaner in house recently and this unit performs just as well on small scale.
I’ll love this till it dies, then Yikes! I rent a Rug Doctor every few months to handle cleaning my sofa & cow hide rug from my 4 cats. I was skeptical since the reviews said that this didn’t actually suck up the water, but it does just as good a job as a Rug Doctor.- Meaning it leaves things wet, but yields a water tank full of dirty water. You have to make sure everything is put together correctly and that the chamber the water empties into is shut tight in order to make a vaccum seal. I hope to be able to use this on other upholstery, the blinds, and for cleaning the bed. The only thing preventing me is the hose length. The pros: it’s smaller and quieter than the Rug Doctor; it doesn’t need anti-foam liquid to work; it heats water and has bristles (unlike the RD)- which is great for fluffing up the texture on the microfiber couch.Cons: It needs a longer hose to reach the back of the couch; it has a clunky holder for the tools that makes it look poorly designed; it can’t get serviced after every use like the Rug Doctor, so I hope it lasts a while.I vowed to never buy another Bissell when my first hand-held wet vac died after a couple uses. So I am surprised this one is feeling like it’s going to last. We’ll see. I just go it today and I’ll update this when I have my first problem.
Works Well For Small Stains I have a full size upright steamer but it’s a full day event to use it. I thought I would use it for small jobs, but it’s just too time consuming to set up and clean up afterwards. It also doesn’t get into corners and small spaces very well. So I started looking for a small spot cleaner. I had a small Bissell years ago, and it leaked terribly, so I was wary of buying another Bissell, but this one seemed better designed so I took a chance.I was impressed when I took it out of the package. It seems very solidly built and it would be difficult for it to leak. All the parts are stored on the machine so it’s easy to store – it’s about the size of a 24-pack of water bottles, although much lighter. The clips that hold the accessories in place are a little flimsy, but they work. It’s very easy to set up – it took less than 5 minutes. The stain came up very quickly, and it was easy to use. It doesn’t have the powerful suction of a larger steamer, so you have to go over the spot 2 or 3 times without spray to pull up the excess water, but if you do that it dries quickly. My carpet was dry within a few hours. It works best on carpets that have a little depth to them – I have inexpensive wall-to-wall and that was fine, but I tried it on a woven doormat and it didn’t get that nearly as dry. It seemed to have difficulty sucking the water out if there was no carpet pile to grab onto. (It wasn’t soaking wet, but wet enough that I hung the mat to dry instead of leaving it on the floor.)I was worried that cleaning would be difficult, but it was pretty easy. The dirty water container cleaned out pretty easily with some rinsing. The brushes were a little more difficult but when I ran water backwards through them, the gunk came right out, and I was able to pick the fuzz off the brushes with my fingers. It’s difficult to get the liquid containers completely dry because the openings are so small – I didn’t want to put the unit away wet so I left the containers out about 24 hours to let them air dry. Overall, I’m very happy with this unit. Although it’s being sold to pet owners, I think it would work well for anyone who needs to clean up spills on carpets.
