Better than the Bissell Pet Stain and Odor formula (redish color) I have a full sized steam cleaner and have used a few of the Bissell cleaning products with it, but this seems to be the best that I’ve tried. This smells amazing! It smells so much better than the redish color Pet Stain formula. With that one, I could still smell some of the urine, but with this one the odor is completely gone. It did not leave the carpet crunchy like some other stain removing solutions do. Also, it worked faster than some of the other products. I went over the carpet a few times and the stain came out, whereas some of the previous ones I’ve had to go over the same spot multiple times. Finally, I had no issues with the carpet being discolored. I have a dark tan carpet that I’ve been worried about from time to time with stain removing products. I tried this on a very small area before going over the few spots that I had, there was no discoloration so I went for other areas. It worked out wonderfully.
Not as good as expected I’ve been doing a lot of carpet cleaning lately with a . It’s an excellent machine, and is a five star cleaning product. I had high hopes for this product, given the results I’ve been having with other Bissell products. Unfortunately, this product fell short of my expectations.As a carpet cleaning formula, I’d have to say it compares favorably with the five star product I mentioned. I think it cleans as well, and many people might prefer the smell of this one. If I were to review it as a carpet cleaning formula alone I’d give it five stars. If you need a top quality carpet cleaning solution, I can recommend this as one of the best.The problem I have is with its use as a urine eliminator. I tried it on some tough stains that were not fresh. Using the Deep Cleaner as an upright machine, I went over the stains twice the recommended number of times for normal cleaning. They were noticeably improved, but far from gone. And the odor was still strong. I then used the Deep Cleaner in handheld mode after spraying on this formula, letting it sit for a few minutes, and then cleaning it with the machine. A significantly larger portion of the stain came out, and most of the odor went away. I continued many times more than I would have expected, and eventually tried using before going over it a final time. Normally I would have pre-treated the areas and then cleaned, but I wanted to get a feel for how well the Urine Eliminator worked alone. By the time I was done, the odor was gone and the stain was largely diminished. But the stain is still there.In all fairness, it was an old stain that was hidden under a couch, and was from urine that seeped there unknowingly. And cleaning it with a variety of other cleaners after the Bissell Urine Eliminator did nothing to improve it.As an overall cleaner, this product does a great job. It also did a quick job of making pet vomit disappear. I don’t know of a better formula for a carpet cleaner than this one, and I’d expect better results with fresher stains. And perhaps if I had used this ahead of time, the Scotchgard would have prevented the urine stain from forming. But in my circumstances, I can’t justify a fourth star.
Smells Great! This smells so good! It’s nicer smelling than the Bissell formula we usually use (we usually use the burgundy colored Bissell carpet shampoo bottle). Will update review after a couple weeks to comment on if this actually discourages pets from urinating in the same spot on the carpet (as claimed on the bottle). So far, so good!
