works great no odor I went to Staples and bought their best heavy weight vinyl chair mat , my carpet is plush with memory foam padding. Two things, the mat stank like chemicals ( that’s the PVC ) and after 20 minutes in my chair the wheels made little craters in the mat so no more rolling. After much research I found that EVERY vinyl mat will have the harsh smell and no matter the thickness of the mat it will stretch and not be flat. The POLYCARBONATE mat is lightweight has no discernable odor and doesn’t cause lil craters to form around my chairs wheels. In other words worth, every penny of the extra cost. The vinyl mat went back. The Cleartex Ultimat is just that …the ultimate chair mat.
Cleartex UltiMat This mat arrived in perfect condition in a flat cardboard sleeve and is exactly what I wanted and expected. It is clear, shiny and heavy duty. I am very pleased.
OK, but it moves around easily I bought this chair mat based on the reviews (and the many bad reviews of other chair mats out there). So I thought I would skip buying the cheap chair mats and buy a quality one that will not have to be replaced. I have had this one for over a week now and it seems to be very solid as far as construction, in that I am able to roll easily without my chair leaving any indentations and i think it is unlikely that it will crack or wear out over time. The only bad thing about this chair mat, and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is that the little spikes on the bottom of the mat are too short, so the mat will slowly over the course of each day slide an inch at a time as you get up out of your chair or walk back into your office and sit down. By the end of the day, the mat has slid, or rotated quite a bit and needs to be repositioned again. It’s not a huge deal, but for a more expensive mat like this, I was hoping that it would be perfect.
