Low Tech is the Best Tech I’ll admit I was sceptical .. I had seen similar products selling for twice as much, and I just could not see springing for one of those .. then, I stumbled upon this on Amazon, I had a few other things in my cart, so I could easily meet the free shipping minimum, and I figured, go for it, what have I got to lose .. ??Got home from work and whipped it out, concentrating on the area by our front door, which gets the most traffic .. using a back and forth motion and putting a little elbow grease into it .. my wife watched me, quizically .. once I found the “directionality” of the carpet fibers, it was easy to see this thing was visibly fluffing it up and when I looked at the “comb” head, you could actually see some dirt on it.The funny thing was, my wife had vacuumed earlier that day .. so for the true test, she broke out the Dyson and went over the same area I had just “groomed” .. within a moment, the Dyson canister had dirt in it and the area by the door looked much better ..So, I groomed it again .. vacuumed again, more dirt .. did it three times .. at the end of it, the area was visibly cleaner and looked substantially better .. I was amazed .. my wife, being the contrarian she is, had to mention it was no substitute for a rug shampooer .. and no, it’s not. However, it does in fact work quite well ..This weekend, I think I am going to pick up some of that rug powder / dry cleaning stuff and work it in the carpet with this magic rake .. we’ll see what happens ..I’ll add that if your carpet is really matted and dirty, this thing will probably not work a miracle, however, on moderate matting and some dirt, with a few applications and a vacuum, it worked for us .. and worked quite well .. and it’s a “green” solution .. I’m guessing that if you used this every time you vacuumed, your carpets would be fluffy and new looking much longer than not using it .. thumbs up ..!The best Tech is the Low Tech ..
Great! I have long hair and like everyone else, I lose quite a bit of it on a daily basis. I bought this to rake up hair before vacumming so that the hair would not get wrapped around the brush section of the vacuum which is a real pain to get out. It works perfectly for this and I am sure it would work well for pet hair, too.
